«Music in the Dark» 2007 Submission guidelines:
Thank you for your interest in submitting a film or video for this year's Music in the Dark performance.
«Music in the Dark» is a series of concerts that features Emmy-award composer and performer, Michael Whalen, creating improvisational "scores" to new silent films. The 5th iteration of «Music in the Dark» will take place in September of 2007.
The deadline that your submission must be received by is August 13th, 2007. You can submit your silent film (no sound at all) in DVD or quicktime format - only. A full-res digital version will be required if your film is selected. Your film can have any content from dramatic, narrative, documentary, news, avant-garde, experimental or animated. Please take into consideration our partnership with Americares. We are looking to screen films with the Human Experience. Please check out www.americares.org for more information about the organization. You must own the rights to the film that you are submitting and you will give «Music in the Dark» permission to screen the film at our performance on September 18, 2007.
Each film or video submission to «Music in the Dark» cost $15. Please make your check or money order out to AmeriCares. Your submission fee is a tax deductible donation.
