4) Can I arrange to come in for a screening of my file or video?

No. We now screen everything on on DVD or Quicktime files on disc from materials that are sent.

8) How many films can i submit?

As many as you like. However, each submitted film must have its own DVD or quicktime disc, Entry Fee, and Supplemental Materials. Do not put multiple projects on the same screening tape or DVD or quicktime disc.

9) Does it matter how big my budget was, or if I have an agent or celebrities, or if it's black and white, or video, or genre, or if I don't know anyone at «Music in the Dark»?

Not at all. Don't panic, just send in the work. We have a long- standing and trusted reputation of screening and selecting all kinds of projects without prejudice.

10) What are the types of films you are looking for?

First of all - they must be silent. No sound at all from the screen, sfx, dialogue, etc. Second, the film must be between 3 and 5 minutes long. In rare cases, we accept longer films. The films can range from documentary, to narrative, comedy, news, experimental or anything else.

11) If my film is not chosen, may i speak with someone for notes or feedback?

Unfortunately, no. With over 250 films submitted each year, we don't have enough time to speak or correspond with you individually about your film.

12) When will I find out if my film was selected?

We will contact you via email by the last week of August. Please make sure that the email address you provide will be operational at that time.
